Manchester United are currently top in England’s Premier League, seven points clear of second-placed Arsenal and on their way to the title. The Red Devils comfortably defeated Fulham 2-0 on the weekend, with Dimitar Berbatov and Antonio Valencia on the scoresheet.
United have won 15 of 16 league games at Old Trafford this term.

Chelsea are currently second in England’s Premier League, 6 points behind United.
The Blues battled hard to a 1-0 victory over bottom-placed Wigan on the weekend, with Florent Malouda breaking a long goal drought for the winner.
The Londoners look out of the title race and are already out of the FA Cup, so this is their final hope for a trophy this term.

Unforgettable holiday

Posted: April 24, 2011 in Uncategorized

Everybody loves holidays because during our holidays we can relax and have fun. We get enough time to travel, play our favorite sports and practice our hobbies. Below I will tell you about my last holiday.

I had always dreamed about going to Hawaii. It was the evening of April 1st, 2003 when my parents called me from his work and told me that we are going to Hawaii for one week in our holidays next month. I couldn’t believe my ears what I just heard. I asked him again if he is not making it up, but he said he already purchased tickets online and made plans. On 10th May we departed jakarta and headed towards our first destination, The Big Island of Hawaii. As soon as we reached there after a long journey, I was stunned by the beautiful scenic views that I only saw in pictures. I was totally lost in the scenic views that I forgot to blink my eyes. We stayed in the 5-star hotel in front of the beach. Next day we hired a van for a trip to see volcano. It was simply amazing. We stayed in The Big Island for 4 days, and then we went to the island of Maui for 4 days. We did so many activities which included Jet Ski, Parasailing etc. We also watched the sunrise of Kalekala’s summit, it was very excited. At last one of the best things we did in Hawaii was to drive on the Hana Highway. It was the most amazing and spectacular experience of my life that I was stunned by God’s creation of a heaven-like place on earth. This highway has 600-plus turns, 50 one-lane bridges and breathtaking views that alternate between mountain  and soaring sea cliffs, the Hana Highway is less a roadway than an event in itself. Our journey ended on 18th of May. On our way back we traveled by plane again. During the trip I thought, ‘Those days were amazing and unforgettable, I wished if I had more days to spend over there’.
My holiday was exciting and full of joy. I enjoyed it immensely. I am looking forward to going there again soon.

THE FIRST GAME

Posted: April 19, 2011 in Uncategorized

My name is Stephen Travis, I am a soccer player. Now I played for Liverpool FC. I am an attacking midfielder. I control and make the game, I control the tempo, distribute the ball, and sometimes I dribble through and score some amazing goals. Right now, I am 29 years old, and recently I was transferred from Scottish Premier League club, Motherwell FC. I brought this team to win the national title and go through the quarter final of Champions league. I have a good ability on playmaking the game and dribble past the defender. That’s maybe why Liverpool interseted on me and transferred me for about 12 million pounds.

I remember my first game of football, well its my first tournament. 17 years ago, when I was 12 years old, I joined small club named London Warriors FC. I was a benchwarmer at that time, I never played a game. We had made it into the semi-finals. Our opposing team was our rival, London Flying Horse FC. We had five minutes left on the clock, and the preasure was on. Our captain, also our best player on the field, Marc Galaggher was injured. Coach was so confused and decided to subbed me in, it was my first game, I was really nervous that time. I was the youngest player on the field.

We had been keeping the ball in their end for awhile it only coming back for our defense to kick it back up again. We knew we had to win this game. Everyone was doing everything they could to keep the ball near the other net. With a few minutes left on the clock the ball ended up rolling straight to me. Our line of defense was standing just behind the center line. Everyone else up ner the opposing teams net. As the ball was rolling to me, the goalie and defense men started yelling, screaming and with so much confidence in their voice for me to kick the ball as hard and as far as i could. As my foot hit the ball I was just hoping for the ball to go somewhere else, to someone on my team. As I was standing there, waiting for something to happen. Everyone started screaming, running at me from everywhere like I had died and come back to life. I’d scored the winning goal. I had got myself and my team into the finals.

It was a brilliant moment, I would never forgot that match.

Some of the students made a interesting comments. Many of them want to visit the homeground of the favourite team and watch a live match. But most of them dont like Indonesian football because its not good. And we asked other question “what will you do if your favourite team lost in a big precious match”. Most of them answer, “i dont know”, “dunno” and some of them said “keep calm”,”stay cool” and manymore.

Soccer is all about development. Players will reach his peak of performance at the ageof around 27-31 years old. Young players are the most important things for the team, so they have  their own”future” wiothout wasting a lot of money to buy another player.

Fernando “el Nino” Torres

Posted: March 29, 2011 in Uncategorized

Fernando Torres arrived at Chelsea on transfer deadline day, January 31, 2011 after three-and-a-half seasons with Liverpool.

Torres’s scoring pedigree in English football is without doubt. The 26-year-old netted 65 goals in 102 league appearances for the Reds and 81 in 142 games in all competitions.

He moved to the Premier League aged 23 having spent the previous 12 years at Atletico Madrid, a club based a few miles from the town of his birth on the outskirts of the capital city.

In his time at Atletico, ‘El Nino’ (The Kid – his nickname in Spain) was the club’s youngest player and youngest captain. His debut came aged 17 and he took the armband two years later.

His first full season was a quiet start with just six goals from 36 league appearances but that became 13 from 29 games the next year and the 20-goal mark was reached in 2003/04, Torres’s most prolific season in Spain and the year of his debut for the national side.

The player’s subsequent emergence on the international stage and 75 goals in 174 Spanish top-flight games meant many clubs across Europe were after his signature but he chose to work under compatriot Rafael Benitez at Liverpool.

The transfer in July 2007 was valued at approximately £20 million, Luis Garcia going the other way, and Torres’s first goal for the Merseysiders was against Chelsea at Anfield, opening the scoring in a 1-1 draw after getting the better of Tal Ben-Haim. It was the first of seven goals in seven games against Chelsea. It is his best return against any English club.
